Desiccant Dehumidifiers The DD122FW-MK3 is not a normal dehumidifier. Instead of using a compressor it uses a desiccant wheel to dry the air. This has several advantages. Consistent water removal from the air Whatever the temperature the DD122FW-MK3 will remove 7 litres of water per day. Whether you put it in your cold garage or your warm house the dehumidifier will extract exactly the same amount of water. This is equivalent to a 20 litre compressor dehumidifier in the house and a considerably larger, industrial, machine in the garage Operating Modes: Auto setting maintains rH between 55/60% & adjust fan speed automatically. Low mode maintains 55/60% on constant low speed. High mode maintains 45/50% on constant high fan speed. Turbo mode is constant dehumidifying on high fan speed
Heat The air coming out of the DD122FW-MK3 can be several degrees warmer than the air that goes into it. Very useful for drying washing and warming cold areas of the house.
Weight The lack of a compressor makes the DD122FW-MK3 about half as heavy as a normal dehumidifier. Sound The sound that this dehumidifier makes is also less than a compressor type model. On its lowest setting you can just make out a slight fan noise. Low speed 34dBA and high speed 48dBA Power As is the case with all desiccant machines the running wattage of the DD122FW-MK3 is higher than that of a compressor based machine. But one has to take into account the fact that desiccant machines get the job done faster and are therefore are on for less time and so the end result in terms of consumption is very similar. This machine has auto-restart after a power failure which is useful for unoccupied areas. Laundry Mode The DD122FW MK3 desiccant dehumidifier has a turbo laundry mode for rapid dehumidification ideal for drying clothes inside. An electric louvre on the top directs the warm air exhaust enabling the unit to blow directly onto clothes, further reducing the drying time. Timer A timer function will turn the unit off in 2, 4 or 8 hours time and an attractive blue light shows that the unit is working. |
